On an extraordinarily sunny Sunday afternoon we took a relaxed photowalk with darling Alina, in one of my favourite locations just outside Helsinki. The wintry setting sun makes these photos quite melancholy and that is perhaps why I like them so much!

It's always such a pleasure to have Alina in front of my camera and to spend time with her; in the past year she has become one of my closest friends! That day we had cake and tea at the lovely cafe nearby to end our photowalk in the best possible way.

The month of November in Finland is always the hardest for photographs, when all the colours seem to have disappeared and the darkness settles in. After several rainy days, I decided to embrace the bad weather and arranged a very wet portrait session — I even bought a transparent umbrella for the occasion.

Naturally I decided to call Riim — since every photowalk with her had been a success — and settled for one of my favourite locations where we could still find some greenery — oh how I love pine trees!

I am so happy with the way these photographs turned out, that I seriously had trouble selecting just a few: I can only hope November will bring more of this!

Lovely Susanna and Rob would like us to take their wedding photos next spring in Tuscany, so we had the incredible opportunity to take a weekend trip to check out the location — at the beginning of November.

I had not been to Tuscany in years and the beauty of the countryside already made it for a wonderful trip! On top of that, though, we also got to enjoy a taste of the delicious potential wedding menu and spend a night in the charming Casa Cornacchi country house — surrounded by cypress and olive trees.

Despite the busy schedule, I also got the chance to take a few test shots with Susanna and Rob: even though the sky was overcast and it started to rain, I am quite happy with the mood of these photos. Now I cannot wait for May and the actual wedding to take place!

That Saturday we visited the national park of Sipoonkorpi for the first time. I truly wonder how come we had never been there before: not only the park is closer to Helsinki than Nuuksio, but also the landscape is a bit different and makes it for a lovely change of scenery. Even though that section of the park was mostly evergreen, I still managed to capture some autumn colours with my camera: I really loved the burnt orange ferns!

I met Sara on the first day of October. It was a very gloomy afternoon: the sky was getting darker by the minute and I had to go as high as 800 iso to get a decent shutter speed. Nevertheless, we found a very photogenic spot in the Arabia neighbourhood, in the outskirts of Helsinki: I truly like the contrast of the yellow flowers with the concrete building in the background. I do not often take portraits in urban areas, but it has happened already twice this autumn and I am starting to like it. What do you think of these?

Just a few photographs I took on the last day of September while walking somewhere in HelsinkiArabia and Töölönlahti to be precise. Autumn leaves, grey skies and birds flying away: a bit melancholy perhaps, but still worth sharing.

On a glorious sunny Saturday we visited Repovesi National Park to spend a relaxing day in the nature. The leaves had already turned yellow on most of the trees and the sunlight made everything shine like gold. I did not take as many photos as I should have, nevertheless you can see a few below — I hope you will like them!

A few portraits to remember a beautiful and fun evening in Kuusiluoto, at the very beginning of autumn. Lauri, Riim and I took an extempore photowalk and decided to make a crown of rowan berries. The sun was just setting when I took these and the golden light was magnificent! It's lovely how I keep on making wonderful memories in Kuusiluoto!

We were determined to make the most of our last day by visiting an area not far from the airport, which we could never fully appreciate during our previous trips.

At this point we were already feeling a bit nostalgic about leaving Iceland, but still we managed to see the two lighthouses of Akranes — my first time inside a lighthouse! — and ended up driving the scenic road around Kleifarvatn lake. I even took a photo of our van that I thought would be nice to share with you!

Leaving Iceland always makes me a little sad, though this time around I feel even more connected to this incredible place and I know that there will be a fourth trip and many more to come. I hope you have enjoyed the photographs!
