the first snow had started to fall
last week on wednesday evening and by thursday morning
Helsinki was completely white. I decided to take my
Nikon FM for a stroll to the
botanic garden in Kaisaniemi - the temperature was just below -4°C that day.
some photographs of that snowy day at the botanic garden in Kaisaniemi:
✻ Nikon FM - Fuji Superia 1600.
the snow was still falling while I was walking around the garden - which made me feel at peace
as if the time had stopped. the remaining flowers and berries were very fascinating when partly covered in snow and the water of the pool in the middle of the park had started to freeze. when my hands started prickling because of the cold -
I eventually made my way inside the glass house to discover that the presence of the snow outside was changing the atmosphere indoors as well.
P.S. I will share some photographs of that snowy day at the botanic garden inside the glass house very soon!
Gorgeous, wow... there's this silence when snow falls that's pretty incredible... and being in that wonderful hot house. Do you have pinctures from the inside? I would love to see them!!
ReplyDeletethank you very much! :-) yes, snow can truly change the atmosphere of places! and I did take some photographs inside the glass house - I will share them in a new post tomorrow or so! ;-)
Deletethis looks so wonderful !
ReplyDeletethank you very much for all your lovely comments! :-)
DeleteOh how beautiful! I can't wait to see snow, but since I live in L.A. I'll have to wait until I visit the American Midwest in a few weeks! That photo with the berries looks so peaceful, as you say. It must be really strange to see white covering an entire glass building, but also incredibly beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteI am sure your trip to the American Midwest will be super! and, despite the fact that I love snow, I truly miss the sun during the winter too! ;-)
Deletethank you for your comment, dear Valerie! :-)
I love the snowy flowers!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm waiting for your photos of the glass house!
And I know you didn't delete my earlier comment on purpose. :) Hugs!
thank you, dear Sirpa! I am glad to hear so! :-) I will publish the photographs from inside the glass house sometime tomorrow! ;-)
