on
saturday morning it was even colder than
the day before -
Jacopo and I were planning to go to
Suomenlinna but when we reached the ferry we changed our mind because of the strong wind blowing from the sea. we decided instead to go to
Vanha Katajanokka: a beautiful old area of the city where we don't go that often.
winter walk with my Diana Mini:
✻ Fuji Superia 1600.
Vanha Katajanokka has some of
the most grand buildings in Helsinki and they all looked like castles in the snow - my
Diana Mini captured some of those really beautifully in my opinion. from
Vanha Katajanokka we then walked to
the harbour of Katajanokka to make our way back home: I have finished the film roll taking photographs of ships and the frozen sea.
I will share the photographs from that last bit of our walk soon!
Beautiful buildings!
ReplyDeletethey are, aren't they? they are some of my most favourite in Helsinki! :-)
Deletecome, polly! you'd be more than welcome in me and my boyfriend's house. and i'd love to see lisbon through your lens. really. :-)
ReplyDeletevanha katajanokka looks incredibly beautiful!!
if I come over, I'll take many cameras and film rolls - that's for sure! :-) thank you, Catarina! Vanha Katajanokka is probably one of my favourite areas of town!
DeleteI love those tram lines! the straight lines and severity of those buildings are quite amazing with the dreamy quality of the colors and the grain... They are amazing!
ReplyDeletethank you so much! :-) I was also fascinated by the tram lines! :-) the pastel colours of the buildings are pretty amazing in the winter time, because they make such a lovely contrast with the snow!
Deleteawww *-* <3 sei proprio tenera!
ReplyDeleteti ricordi quando c'eravamo stati d'estate? d'inverno e' molto diversa, ma comunque bellissima! :-)
DeleteThe old side of Katajanokka is the most underrated place in the whole Helsinki: it is populated by beautiful buildings, and has a really nice story. We should definitely go there more often during the summer specially... and there are some nice cafeterias there!
ReplyDeleteI think so too! it's such a wonderful place, surrounded by the sea and so quiet! yes, let's please go there more often! :-) ♥
