last night I got back to Helsinki after spending
five days in
Oulu: it had been a lovely little holiday! the lab says they might take a few more days to get my
rolls of film developed so I would like to share here some
mobile phone photographs - while I am waiting for my analogue ones to be ready.
photographs from Oulu - part I:
more on Instagram
despite the
midwinter darkness and the
bitter cold - one day the temperature went down to
-18°C - we managed to spend at least a couple of hours outdoors every day: we visited
some of my favourite places and everything looked so beautiful covered in snow! whenever we got too cold we returned to
Jacopo's grandparents' lovely cottage and they fed us with warm and abundant food:
it felt like Christmas! I really cannot wait to tell you more and share
my analogue photographs with you! ♥
it does look beautiful covered in snow, wow. I can't wait to see more photos :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rhianne! I really hope to be able to share more soon - the lab seems to be having some problems.
DeleteThese shots are amazing! It's so cool to see that even your mobile photos have such an analogue quality to them :)
ReplyDeleteOh Inês, that is lovely of you to say! Thank you so much!
Deleteas always. your photos are hauntingly beautiful
ReplyDeleteNiken, thank you very much!
DeleteGorgeous photos, the snow looks so clean!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Charlotte! Yes, the snow is always so white and clean in the countryside... I wish it could be the same in the city!
Deletestunning pictures. they somehow remind me of my childhood winters. we don't get that kind of snow anymore.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Petra! I'm really fond of snowy winter, but this year we haven't yet been blessed with snow here in Helsinki. Thankfully I could enjoy some in Oulu!
Delete-18?!?!? Eeeek! But it must be wonderful to take a walk through the cold and come back to a warm house with a warm welcome! The pictures are beautiful, I especially love the lines and tones in picture number three. I can't wait to see more pictures from your trip!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Nancy! I will be sharing more pictures as soon as I get them developed - hopefully in the next few days. -18°C sounds terrible, but I have seen colder days here in Finland... the best thing about them is that everywhere is really quiet and you can enjoy beautiful landscapes in perfect solitude!
DeleteEverything looks magnificent! Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Antonella! I'm also looking forward to finally see my rolls developed... Unfortunately the lab seems to be having some problems these days and we'll have to wait a little longer.
Delete-18?? argh. i like the second picture, with the little house in the snow. very christmassy indeed :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Silvia! That house was lovely indeed, but I have photographed one with my Nikon FM that was even better... Hopefully I'll be able to share it soon!
DeletePolly, what is your secret to always creating the most perfect photographs? ;)
ReplyDeletexoxo
Charlyn, you're too good to me! Thank you! Actually, Finnish landscape does a lot!
DeleteIf I had such beautiful scenery where I am, I would endure the bitter cold for some pictures too!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your film pictures :)
Thank you, Evelyn! I have to say the scenery was totally worth the bitter cold!
Deletei cannot imagine -18ºc 0_0 i freeze when it's 5 degrees in here ahahaha <3
ReplyDeletealways a pleasure to 'follow' you around with instagram ;)
Thank you so much, dear Sara! Yes, -18º can be quite challenging, but it's worth to be outdoors when the surroundings are so beautiful!
