two weeks have already passed since we spent that
weekend at the mökki but I still have all my photographs from those lovely days to share here. it had been the very first time that
Jacopo and I spent at the cabin
in autumn as we normally go there in the summer: this year though we wanted to see the place in a different light and with different colours. it was
the second weekend of October and
ruska was at its best in
Maxmo on the coast of
Western Finland.
autumn at the mökki I:
Nikon FM - Fuji Pro 400H
Hasselblad 500 C/M - Fuji Pro 400H
we arrived at the cabin on Friday evening and it was already so dark that we could not see the colours until the morning after: when dawn finally came I was blown away by the sight of
the golden trees across the bay. we run outside to take photographs of the sunrise on the shore: I took the first three shots with my
Nikon FM at the break of dawn and the
Hasselblad shot just after we had a
sauna - the sun was already a little higher in the sky. it had been
the perfect start of a beautiful day.
I will share more photographs from our time at the mökki soon!
oh polly, the light is amazing! the pictures taken with the nikon fm are my favorite for the colors and the atmosphere. i'd love to see you cabin, it seems such a dreamy place.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Silvia! That morning light was so beautiful, I was in a total awe! The cabin belongs to Jacopo's grandparents: they built it all by themselves sometime in the 1970's and it is a truly lovely little place.
DeleteStunning photos! (Why do I have a feeling that I would never move from this comment?,-))
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you so much! I really hope you will continue to feel this way about my photographs!
DeleteThe colors are great! What a privilege to live so close to nature.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ingeborg! Yes, going to the cabin is a truly beautiful way to spend time close to nature - I wish we could go there more often!
DeleteOh wow, like trees on fire! So good to see these photos in such a gloomy day like today in Portugal :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like them, Inês! Thank you! It is rather gloomy these days in Helsinki too - that makes me miss that weekend at the cabin even more.
DeleteWow, the trees really look like golden ones!
ReplyDeleteEspecially in the last picture, where the colour of the water gives a great contrast to the golden trees!
Thank you, dear Sirpa! I took the last photograph at least an hour later than the first three and the morning light is not as magic there, but the sun on the trees makes them look much more golden.
DeleteUnbelievable! I can only dream of golden trees and savor them through your beautiful pictures :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Katie! I hope you'll find the next photographs pleasant to look at as well - I have plenty more from that weekend.
DeleteWhat a beautiful retreat and can't wait to see more photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Erika! I will share more soon!
