these are
the last few photographs I would like to share from our latest visit to
Kruunuvuori. later that morning it started to
rain quite insistently and it became unpleasant to walk around the wet forest - we decided to leave then. I have to say that every year
the closer it gets to the winter the harder it is to go for photographic excursions: it may not show in the pictures but there is a lot of hassle behind them - the cold turns my fingers numb and heavy scarves and hats stifle my movements with the cameras.
I still love being outdoors though and I will try to do so every time I get the chance!
a visit to Kruunuvuori - part III:
Nikon FM - Fuji Superia X-tra 800
despite the rain we could not leave before paying a visit to
my favourite abandoned villa - the one you can see in the last two photographs. it is quite far from the sea and the little dark lake but it is the most special to me: I bet it used to be so beautiful once! I really love the way the upper part of the house is decorated exteriorly and I can only imagine how gorgeous it must have been inside. the fact that somebody has covered the walls with
graffiti really upsets me though:
they are totally out of place.
I wish you all a lovely start of the week! ♥
Oh - it's my favourite of all of them as well… the shingle/clapboard thing looks so much like a fish or some old fairy tale armour or something… also I love the contrast of the cool lichen green and the warm tone of he house.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it was your favourite too! It is the most special one, isn't it? That lichen on the trees is really incredible looking!
DeleteThis weekend I had to stay at home since I needed to study and now I do feel like a smaller beast. By looking at these photos the only thought I have in my mind is that I really want that, a wildness and a walk. Beautiful;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope you'll get to have a nice walk next weekend instead!
DeleteThe grey trees look wonderful together with the warm colour below them!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sirpa! I agree, the forest looked magnificent, even if there were no longer leaves on the trees.
Deleteit's just beautiful. i went to a beach on sunday, but it's nothing like go to the forest. but at the time, i was just happy to be out in the nature.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Niken! A beach sounds beautiful too, I love the sea!
Deletewow wow wow !
ReplyDeleteWell, thank you so much!
DeleteThis last batch is the best!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Antonella! Now that I look at it, I think it is my favourite one as well.
DeleteGraffiti upsets me too... beautiful pictures, I love those colors
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barbara. I have nothing against graffiti, as long as they are well thought through and in certain places. I just cannot accept them in the wilderness.
DeleteSuch mysterious place! Great pictures, I like the sombre colors :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ellie! And thank you for stopping by Passer Domesticus!
Deletegrafitti is so many times just random visual noise and vandalism and i feel like hurting people who do this kind of 'art' ahahah
ReplyDeleteYour photos are an invitation to get out of the house to every lazy people out there :)
the landscape are really something and i love the grain,i think it makes it a little more special!
Thank you so very much, dear Sara! And I totally know what you mean about graffiti.
DeleteLove the mood in the 3 series. Beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThank you, Birdie! I'm so glad you think so!
DeleteGorgeous detailed pictures. The contrast
ReplyDeleteis lovely and the setting is so mysterious
and scary as well Xx
Welcome to Passer Domesticus! Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment!
Deletelove every picture you took in kruunuvuori, polly. too bad for the graffiti, some people really don't have anything better to do..
ReplyDeletein this post, the water looks so dark (and cold) it almost scares me!
I'm glad you do, Silvia! Thanks so much!
DeleteThat little lake is particularly mysterious and scary looking, I agree.
The other day, in a hostel, I met a girl from Finland and I had to tell her how *magical* I think the countryside of Finland is, ever since I got to see it years and years ago... and now thanks to you! They look like haunted houses, like Hansel or Gretel should be lost in there...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I'm very happy you like what you see of Finland through my blog!
DeleteI hope your journey is continuing smoothly!
The one with the dark lake, the rain drops, the dead tree in the water, is very beautiful. And together these photos really tell the story of this place. The weather seems perfect for it, although not quite pleasant for the feeling.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ingeborg! I'm glad you think so and I also like the one with the lake the most among this series.
DeleteI love how some trees look almost white, like spirits of the trees they once were. That house is really special :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for your comment about my print shop! I really appreciate it!
Thank you, Inês! I love those trees too, that white moss makes them so special!
DeleteGood luck with your lovely print shop!
It is also the same here although the conditions must be so very different but in the winter it gets grayer, colder, wetter and sometimes photographic excursions cannot run on just passion on our parts!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful and I thank you for continuing to take them while you still can in the bitter cold, Polly! :)
Thank you so much, dear Katie! I'll do my best!
DeleteActually the winter is approaching here and it seems to be quite rainy and dull as well - it is still too warm for the snow to come.
Its a different world in these pictures. Beautiful and melancholic. I love the little cottage in the last two photos. i'd want to fix it up and live there.Maybe.:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Awono! I'm glad you think so! That yellow cottage is my favourite, I wish I could live there too, but it's barely standing these days, unfortunately.
