the weather has been extremely
foggy and gray for many days in
Helsinki: I have never witnessed such a warm and wet winter before. the snow is almost melted and I wonder if it will snow again or the spring will come earlier this year. I am starting to get bored of this
colourless weather and I cannot wait for the sun to finally come again - yet the fog has given me the chance to take some very interesting photographs: today I would like to share two from
last Saturday in
Suomenlinna.
last Saturday in Suomenlinna:
Nikomat EL - Kodak 400
the island was practically deserted in such foul weather and that made it more
fascinating. this time though
Jacopo was the one holding the camera: the first photograph is
a portrait he took of me in front of a lovely yellow cottage - I really like it! I got my
Nikomat EL back only at the end of our walk and took the second photograph you see here while waiting for the ferry. I think
the contrast between the two images is very appealing - what do you say?
have a lovely Sunday! ♥
cute portrait ♥ your scarf matches the wall perfectly
ReplyDeleteThank you, Silvia! That shade of yellow is my favourite colour!
DeleteI adore them both! You look so beautiful in that portrait :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Inês! I'm glad you like my photograph of the ferry too!
DeleteHello lovely!
ReplyDeleteI am really interested in doing a feature of my favourite photographers on my blog. Would you be interested? It would be an honour to interview you! If you say yes, I would send some questions to your email, and you can write back with your answers and an attachment of 3-5 of your favourite photographs, and I will post the interview and images in a blog post.
If you are interested or have any questions, please email me!

Dear Ally, thank you so much for asking me! I've e-mailed you!
Deleteoh I absolutely love this portrait !
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
Deleteoh wow Polly, that is such a haunting photo of the boat through the ice! I guess because I have never seen weather like that, it just looks so extreme. I do love how horrible weather makes places so empty and seem interesting, it almost makes up for the cold!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Charlotte! I admit that by looking at the photograph the weather seems quite extreme indeed - in reality it was just very foggy and humid, but I've seen much colder winters in Helsinki - this one has been quite mild so far!
