puu-käpylä.

not too far from TAIK there is a very pretty neighborhood called Puu-Käpylä - where some beautiful wooden houses built in 1920 are still magnificently standing.

earlier this week I had finally decided to take a closer look at this beautiful historic district - with my Nikon FM.

I do not pass by Puu-Käpylä very often but I think that such a pretty and unique neighborhood deserves to be photographed.

A nice neighborhood it is, but the pictures are not from Puu-Käpylä. They are from Toukola, which is situated east of Käpylä (and Kumpula), closer to the Vanhankaupunginlahti-bay and Arabia-district. Käpylä, Kumpula and Toukola are all part of the working class wooden house area built in the 20's and 30's.
