the journey to
Kaunissaari on the little wooden ferry took longer than I expected - almost
fifty minutes - but I did not mind. I had never been so far out in the
archipelago of Helsinki before and everything looked fascinating to me: from the sunlight sparkling on the sea to all the
sailing boats.
Kaunissaari - the beautiful island:

lately I have been thinking about
the sea and what it means to me: until I moved to
Helsinki four years ago it was an unfamiliar concept though now I do not think I could live without it. what I love the most about
Finland is that I can enjoy both
the sea and
the forest at the same time!
