lamppöllö.

in the last couple of weeks I have been designing and realizing a special lamp - which is going to be installed in hesperian puisto along with many others - for LUX Helsinki Lantern Park. LUX is a festival of lights which is going to light up the city during the darkest time of the winter - between the 31st of december and the 9th of january. my contribution was of course inspired by the world of animals and birds - and especially by one of the most beautiful nocturnal birds ever: the great gray owl.
lamppu (lamp) + pöllö (owl) = Lamppöllö.
with Jacopo's precious help I had been documenting the realization of my lantern with his video camera.

✻ some screen shots from the video:

I am going to take some photographs of Lamppöllö when it will be lighting up hesperian puisto. if you are in Helsinki during LUX festival - don't forget to go and take a look at Lantern Park!
