I cannot believe it is already April!
today I would like to share a photograph that I did not take but that
Jacopo took of me instead. a couple of weeks ago we ended up walking on
Hietaniemi beach just before sunset: it was a very windy day and my eyes were watering but
Jacopo took my
Hasselblad and shot this photograph of me which I think turned out quite good - I have
a dreamy yet melancholy expression in it that I really like. I believe it is meaningful that this portrait of me was taken just a few days after
I had changed my hairstyle - saying goodbye to the straight bangs that I had worn since my childhood.
a photograph of me taken by Jacopo:
Hasselblad 500 C/M - Lomography Redscale 100
unfortunately the rest of the photographs taken on this film roll all turned out really badly -
extremely grainy and with horrible stains of colours. I have to say I was quite disappointed by the
Lomography Redscale 100: the
Lomography Redscale XR 50-200 is much better in my opinion. still I thought this particular photograph was really worth sharing.
many thanks to Jacopo! ♥
It is wonderful to have a photo companion all the time :)
ReplyDeleteyou look very beautiful and very mysterious!
more photos of new hairstyle please!
Thank you, dear Sara!
DeleteI always like it more when Jacopo can join me for a photographic excursion!
I will post another photograph of me some other time... I rarely like myself in photographs.
Sorry to hear that the other photos didn't turn out. The one that did though - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Samantha! That's the risk with analogue photography, but it is all worth it!
Deletebeautiful photo ♥
ReplyDeleteI don't see your hairstyle in this photo but I can't wait to see the new look. ;-)
Thank you! It is not so much a new look, just a fringe swept on the side, to let it grow. I wanted my hairstyle to be more practical.
DeleteSuch a beautiful portrait!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nancy! Jacopo knows how to photograph me!
DeleteLovely Polly ! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear Birdie!
Deletethis is a very beautiful portrait! you look lovely! you know, i also use to have straight bangs always till two years back when i "finally got rid of them" but still i sometimes miss them... but remembering how hard it was to wait them to grow....
ReplyDeleteThank you, Etta! You know, I totally agree with you. Straight bangs are beautiful and I really miss mine, but they are absolutely not practical at all. Especially in a city likes Helsinki, where it is always so windy!
Deletethis is a lovely portrait polly! but it does not show your new hairstyle, we're curious here!
ReplyDeletei can't belive it's already april, either. this is my favorite month of the year, i hope to have time to enjoy it properly :)
Haha, thank you, Silvia! I suppose it doesn't show that much in the photograph, but there is really not that much to see, just a fringe swept on the side.
DeleteApril is a beautiful month indeed!
Bangs are adorable but your new hairstyle really opens up your face! :) Happy April, Polly!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Katie! Sometimes I think I look older... I have still to get used to it!
DeleteHave a wonderful April!
Love the picture! Yes April has come really fast :O
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melissa! It has indeed come fast, but I'm really glad that summer will be here soon!
DeleteOutstanding portrait. Well done, Jacopo!
ReplyDeleteI understand perfectly your disappointment. Last year I got so many bad results that I started to think that the Hasselblad doesn't really see eye to eye with that Lomography film.
Thank you, Antonella! Jacopo will be happy to hear that!
DeleteI was really disappointed by this Redscale 100, but I still have some faith in the Redscale XR and I hope it won't let me down!
You look lovely! On the contrary, I'm considering bangs :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Evelyn! Bangs are beautiful, as long as you don't live in a windy place!
