Nikon F5 - Fuji Provia 100FI am planning to take more portraits with my Petzval since I would like to be able to know her inside out. I am going to ask more friends to pose for me too: I would like to move out of my comfort zone and do something new with my photography.

lovely Annika agreed to pose for my Petzval on a Sunday afternoon a few weeks ago. it was a very pleasant session and here are a few of my favourite shots. I hope you will like them as much as I do!

the day when you have to leave the mökki to go back to the city is always a sad day: that morning I woke up early to sit beside the sea and enjoy the fragrances and sounds of the forest for a while longer. everything was covered by a thick fog and it all felt wonderfully peaceful.
Nikon F5 - Kodak 400I captured everything with my Nikon F5 and my beloved AF-s Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G: from the spiderwebs covering the fir tree to the clothespins hanging outside the sauna. every little detail of the mökki is very dear to me and I hope we will be back there again soon!

the best thing of staying at the mökki is of course being surrounded by nature every minute of the day: being able to acknowledge the changes of the light as time passes and finally admire the sun setting on the sea. it is not easy to capture such beauty in a photograph yet I try every time anyway.
Nikon F5 - Kodak Ektar 100in this selection of photographs there is a bit of afternoon light and a bit of evening light: they were all taken with the Lomography Petzval. I especially like the first one I took of Jacopo.

it is hard to meet someone that looks as naturally beautiful as my friend Maria does: taking this series of portraits of her was a pleasure. besides the afternoon light was lovely that day and my Nikon F5 and my Lomography Petzval proved once again to be a perfect match.
Nikon F5 - Kodak Ektar 100I also ended up taking some shots of Maria and Igor together: they are a lovely couple. there was something so relaxed about that photo session : I really hope I will have many more like that.
thank you so much Maria and Igor! ♥

I have got such positive feedback on my previous post that I am very excited to share some more photographs of our walk in the forest in Särkimo: hopefully they will be appreciated as much. also I am starting to believe I should really shoot more slide film: Fujichrome Velvia 100 is truly great.
Nikon F5 - Fujichrome Velvia 100my friend Maria is a biologist and walking in the forest with her was a wonderful experience: I could only appreciate colours and fragrances but she knew so much more. that weekend at the mökki - besides sharing her wisdom about the natural world with me - Maria also kindly agreed to pose for a series of portraits with my Petzval that I will share here next week.
I wish you all a lovely weekend! ♥
10 September 2014
we spent last weekend at Jacopo's family mökki in Särkimo. taking a break from the city is always a blessing and it was wonderful to be there after almost a year. not to mention that our friends Igor and Maria joined us and that made the short getaway even more pleasant. naturally I took my Nikon F5 and shot many photographs: I have already selected some to share with you in my next few posts.
Nikon F5 - Fujichrome Velvia 100on Saturday morning we went for a walk in the forest: the light was absolutely magnificent and if I close my eyes I can still smell the inebriating scent of trees and mushrooms. I especially adore forests in autumn time! many thanks to Jacopo who borrowed my camera to take the last photo where I am standing among such beautiful surroundings: I really love it! ♥
02 September 2014
hello September! I still remember how this particular month felt like when I was at school: a new beginning. September still feels like that to me and I am looking forward to a colourful and hopefully sunny autumn. as my days get busier I will make the most of my free time by doing only what I like.
Nikon F5 - Fuji Pro 400HI have recently got myself a Nikon F5: she is a wonderful camera that - among many other things - has a shutter speed that goes as fast as 1/8000. I still cannot believe how lucky I was to find her in such great conditions for such a convenient price: I guess she and I were meant to be together. needless to say she works extremely well with the Petzval and with the beautiful AF-s Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G that I got as a surprise gift from Jacopo. I am so happy about my new equipment that all I really want to do is being outside taking photographs: hopefully next weekend I will finally have time for that.
P.S. of course the first photograph of this mini series is a courtesy of Jacopo! ♥
