100 feeders (20).

it is about time to declare the end of 100 FEEDERS project: it has been a beautiful and intense experience and it is hard to realize it is over. the book A Story of 100 FEEDERS has now been printed into 4 beautiful copies and I am very proud of it - I am going to present 100 FEEDERS project on the 14th of november for the evaluation of my master thesis.

✻ from the introduction: In the following pages, I have written the complete story of 100 FEEDERS: from how I began to feed birds to how I decided to turn this specific action into my Art practice. From the making of 100 FEEDERS to the feedback I have got back from my audience, this book presents all the various aspects related to my project and displays a series of photographs and images of the process.

✻ from the conclusion: Because of its nature, 100 FEEDERS has not really ended yet, and it is not supposed to. Despite the fact that the postcards had been sent and this book is coming to an end, the 100 feeders are still functioning - at least some of them are - and the bird feeding action I wanted to spread when I started this project will never stop; somebody will continue to use my feeders, others will build new ones, someone else will look at their neighbour’s feeders and think that they want to do the same. [...] My project’s message will hopefully continue to challenge and involve a growing audience.

there is no more waiting for postcards - the 15th of september has passed a long time ago: it is now time for printing the story of 100 FEEDERS and eventually get ready to present my master thesis. 4 more postcards have come last week: more than the 20% of the postcards was sent back.

I cannot know for sure if all of my 100 feeders are still in use somewhere around the world - but I like to hope so.

today I went to my studio and picked up a few more postcards of 100 FEEDERS: there were three plus one another I already got last month. since I have only got back 7 postcards so far - I really hope to get many more before the 15th of September.

100 FEEDERS is not over yet! this summer I have been working hard on my master thesis - which is based on this project: I will share something about it later on. please note that there are less than 4 weeks remaining to send your postcards!

I am happy to announce that I have just got the first three postcards of 100 FEEDERS sent back to me - this morning I went to pick them up at my studio.

I am pleasantly surprised that two postcards from abroad were between the first ones to be sent back: when people living outside Finland came to the 1st Feeders Giveaway I was reluctant to give them a feeder - I am glad that they kept their promise to send their postcards with a suitable stamp. I hope that more postcards will be sent soon: I cannot wait to read more of people's opinions - I wonder what the person from the States meant with a blank postcard though.
