the end of a film roll.

two weeks ago my friend Anne was on autumn break and could spend a few days in Helsinki: being able to see her longer than a couple of hours on a Sunday was lovely! we even got to go to the cinema together to watch a truly nice black and white film about friendship: Frances Ha by Noah Baumbach - if you have not yet seen it I really recommend it. one afternoon we went for a walk in Vanhakaupunkilahti to admire the last colourful signs of autumn. I took my Nikon FM along with a film roll that had just a few remaining shots - among those there are two I would like to share here.

I will never get tired of capturing that boardwalk: to me it looks different every time. I recall visiting Vanhakaupunkilahti at the beginning of autumn and taking a similar photograph - do you remember it? this time though there were two ducks instead of just one.

I am happy to let you know that I have been interviewed for a truly inspiring online photography magazine: Top Photography Films. the interview has been divided into two beautifully edited articles: Featured Photographers | Polly Balitro and Living At The Edge Of The World - check them out if you please and let me know what you think.
Have a lovely weekend! ♥

lomokino 1st experience.

last saturday we went for a walk in a natural area in Helsinki neighborhood: Viikki. the sun was shining on the snow making everything look more beautiful.
I took along my NIKON FM:

✻ unfortunately most of the film roll was overexposed: the sunlight was too strong for a 800 iso.
Jacopo took along his LOMOKINO with a fuji velvia 100: the result was sensational for a first experience!

✻ I truly love the colours!
short movies in 35mm film are something beautiful and unique - I really want to shoot many more of them with Jacopo!

♡ photodiary.

I want to share some photos I have taken over the past few weeks.

✻ the black and white shots are ilford sfx100 and the colour shots are fuji fp100.

lots of talitiainen, many varppunen and also a little sinitiainen are taking over the food balls on my windows: less than two weeks ago me and Jacopo bought a bucket of 60 food balls and there are only 20 left now!

I have spent the most wonderful days with Jacopo beside me: Helsinki was much more beautiful too.

✻ I took this in a special place near Seinäjoki: it's the site for one of the workshops I have joined in school... but I don't want to tell about it yet.

we visited some places we had never seen before in the city and we had our first night out at Orion Cinema: the best "alternative" cinema of Helsinki.

we went back to kaunis Suomenlinna.

✻ check out the jackets me and Jacopo are wearing: both Valtteri flea market findings!

PX70 didn't work out so good this time - it must be the weather that is getting colder - but Jacopo took his video camera around and I may be sharing some videos later.
♡♡♡
once again it was very hard to watch my Jacopo depart on the 615 to vantaa airport earlier on today, but I don't want to tell about this - instead I want to tell you two good news:
I am going to visit him and my family in italy for a weekend in october!
we have applied for a family appartment through HOAS and we are now waiting for their response!

milktastic.

I just adore the sound of that word.
milktastic.
but it doesn't make much sense.
I love it when J. drinks milk though.
