Miia has spent the weekend here. I always enjoy her company and these two days were especially lovely.

old negatives 02.

I have been celebrating the start of december in my darkroom: my dearest friend Miia have mailed me three beautiful old negatives belonging to her family. according to what she has wrote me - the ladies in the photographs are her grandma and her grandma's cousin.

✻ as the negatives are really big I have made a contact print of each of them - then I have printed a cropped version: my enlarger's frame was too small for them.



✻ all of the three negatives were quite easy to print: the photographer had done a really good job taking them in bright day light.

✻ I adore the amount of pets in the photographs - I bet that is the reason why Miia has chosen to send me those negatives: she knows me well.

♥ thank you so much Miia for your wonderful surprise! I will soon mail her back the negatives and I will also include the prints for her to keep.

this morning the postman rang my bell: a big packet has arrived from Seinäjoki - so big that I had to scan it in parts.

photowalk with miia.

it is almost the end of September and since my last post I have started a new job and we have moved into our own apartment. even though life has been very busy I hope I will have time to take some photographs of early autumn: Finland can be beautiful this time of the year! I took these on a photowalk with Miia over a week ago: the forest was still green but I could already sense the atmosphere of autumn.

this strange word means "friend" in finnish. becoming friends with someone here isn't easy, but I feel like I have already found somebody that likes to spend her time with me and that makes me happy. and of course I have my all time friends who make me happy with their letters and phone calls.

dear Miia has just moved to Vaasa and I am planning to visit her soon. she sent a postcard of the city and a muumin card of one of my favourite episodes.

✻ today I was in kierrätyskeskus - the reuse centre: I think it's a more sensible way of shopping. that's where I have also found out about Plan B and bought this wonderful skirt of theirs:

I want to share a beautiful surprise letter I got today from my dear friend Miia - it was so big that I had to go to the post office to collect it.

♡ Miia:

✻ beautiful packaging - when I saw it I thought it must have been hers.

✻ she always sends the most birdish of postcards - owlish in this case.

✻ this pretty bird was the hero of the letter - I won't ever forget to water my plants now.

today I feel like the happiest person in the world: the sun is shining, my little plant has now two white tiny flowers, and I got the most wonderful mix tape from my dear miia.

this morning I got a postcard from my friend Kaisa: she often sends me pretty bird postcards - yet this one must be the most beautiful one she has ever sent.

Kaisa's beautiful postcard made me think about all the lovely bird postcards I have got just over the last three years: they are so many that it was hard to choose my favourite ones - yet I have eventually chosen some with Kaisa's one.
